About Oriental Tea

Located at 2244 S Wentworth Ave, Chicago, IL 60616, Oriental Tea operates as a tea house serving Chicago in Illinois. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as cafe, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Bubble tea, tea houses, Asian bakeries and dessert shops in this group are usually walk-in, counter-order businesses with a menu board overhead listing sweetness and ice levels you can adjust when ordering. Standard bubble tea customization includes sugar level (0-100%), ice level, and a choice of toppings like boba pearls, pudding or jelly, usually at a small extra charge. Asian bakeries sell items individually with tongs and a tray, cafeteria-style, rather than pre-boxed, and pastries are typically less sweet than Western bakery items. Lines build up quickly after school and in the evening, especially near colleges. Most of these businesses accept cards and mobile pay and skew younger in clientele and atmosphere.

Oriental Tea in Chinatown is such a fun and beautifully designed spot. The ceiling filled with colorful hanging umbrellas and soft lights instantly sets the mood — it’s one of those places that feels special the second you walk in. The menu has a huge variety of drinks, from classic milk teas to more unique and dessert-style options, so there’s something for everyone. Everything felt fresh and well made, and the service was quick even when it was busy. It’s definitely a popular stop, but the line moves fast and the space still feels enjoyable once you’re inside. Between the drinks and the atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to take a break while exploring Chinatown. Overall, a really cute and memorable spot — great drinks, great vibe, and absolutely worth a visit 🧋✨

I stopped by Oriental Tea and tried the Oolong Milk Tea along with the Crème Brûlée Bubble Tea. Both were really good—the oolong was smooth and well-balanced, while the crème brûlée option was richer and more indulgent without being overly sweet. Nothing mind-blowing, but definitely solid and satisfying. They also offer ice cream and a variety of snacks, which makes it a nice spot to grab a quick treat. A reliable place if you’re in Chinatown and craving a quality milk tea.

It was really good,I got the strawberry smoothie with 50% sugar, and the strawberry popping boba balls! It is really sweet and good, also the service is amazing, the workers had my drink within 3 or so, minutes! The decoration is beautiful, and it's really aesthetic.

Very cute and unique place for dessert. It was very busy and there are very few places to sit. The ice cream is just okay. It doesn’t have much flavor and seemed pretty bland. Great concept, but nothing great.

Really nice interior but took 20 minutes for them to make my order of 1 taiyaki. Granted it likely takes like 8-10 minutes to cook one batch, but you can see them cook it behind the counter and I’m pretty positive my first one fell apart and they had to restart. Overall, I can’t say anything for the drinks as it’s probably faster to make, so this is a pretty cozy place.
